News Editor, Agri Investor, London

London, England, United Kingdom · Editorial

Agri Investor, the leading publication covering institutional investment into agriculture, has an opening for a News Editor in its London office.

This newly created position would suit an editor or deputy editor ready to move into a role requiring fuller ownership of a product and the content-creation process. You would manage and edit the news flow of a small but very switched on team located in our New York and Sydney offices.

It comes as Agri Investor is poised to expand its coverage – which includes farmland, timberland, agriculture and food technology, food processing, storage, water and all agribusinesses in the value chain – deeper into the agribusiness sector.

Our editorial staff connect deeply with the markets they cover, delivering expert news, analysis and information not available elsewhere. It’s not enough for our journalists to simply report what happens; they must be able analyse how and why news matters for our discerning, high-level audience that comprises the world’s most influential institutional investors, leading fund managers and advisors.

We are looking for ambitious individuals seeking to advance their career in one of the most dynamic segments of global finance by joining a growing, global media company, with offices in London, New York, Hong Kong and Sydney.

The successful candidate should have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent and at least four years of journalism or related/relevant experience. We are looking for a knowledgeable business reporter. Experience covering agriculture would be ideal but is not essential. A good understanding and experience of covering private markets is desirable.

Resilience under pressure – remaining focused in the face of competing priorities to ensure key deadlines are met – is key, as is the ability to work both independently and as part of a global team.

The individual should also be a gifted networker, willing and able to travel, attend industry-related events and moderate panels at internal and external events; engaging constantly with the markets we cover is a core requirement. Fluency in foreign languages and multimedia reporting skills are a plus. People who thrive at PEI are smart, ambitious and committed. The successful applicants will understand the value of teamwork yet desire to make a personal impact and will be passionate and energetic about what they do.
